Danica Patrick often calls things like she sees them, and that was on display Wednesday when she shared a message on Instagram about Valentine’s Day, calling it a “man made day” that often makes people feel bad about themselves.
But in addition to making fun of the Hallmark holiday, Patrick shared a message about positivity, acceptance and being “perfectly imperfect” – an important thing to remember when, as she points out, the day can make people either “feel amazing or horrible”.
Such a lovely, man made day to either feel amazing or horrible, right?! It started back in 496 with the romans celebrating the feast of Lupercalia, marking their official start to springtime…..well that’s what google says.
Our relationships are a reflection of ourselves. It is important to recognize that we are enough just as we are. Not prettier, cooler, funnier, smarter, skinnier, taller, shorter….just as we are. When we do, we attract someone that sees us just the same. Fully. Perfectly imperfect. That reflection is the most amazing thing, and I call it true love. ❤ Have a great day, love yourself so you know how to love others!
Patrick confirmed in December that she and former boyfriend and fellow NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. broke up after nearly five years together. In January, she confirmed that she and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers are dating and told For The Win how exactly the pair got together.
Patrick also told FTW that she expects Rodgers to be at Sunday’s Daytona 500 – her last NASCAR race before retiring – but did not share additional details.
