Young Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has been all about the fans the summer after his rookie year. He stopped by a fan’s BBQ on July 4 after getting an invite on Twitter, and he covered the cost of repairing someone’s iPhone at an Apple Store.
Now, another story has surfaced about Mitchell giving shoes to a young fan who’s battling cancer. A Jazz fan tweeted that the girl in the photo is her cousin and said of Mitchell, “This guy is too good to be true.”
Mitchell responded via Twitter, writing, “Hope all goes well you are in my prayers.”
An Instagram account called @kisses4kycie noted that their late daughter, Kycie, was treated at the same hospital as the young fan in the photo, who’s in a Kisses for Kycie shirt. They shared more of the story:
Today Maya saw her favorite Jazz man @spidadmitchell at the Cheesecake Factory. When she asked for a picture, he ran to his car and signed a pair of shoes for her. Class act Donavan Mitchell, that little act means more than you know.
