A’s want to help fan who had beer thrown on him at Yankee Stadium

Great response, A’s.

Wednesday’s AL Wild Card at Yankee Stadium wasn’t a great experience for anyone associated with the Oakland Athletics. The Yankees cruised to a 7-2 win, and the A’s didn’t record a hit until the fifth inning.

It was an especially unpleasant night for one A’s fan seated in the left-field bleachers.

A video circulated on Twitter showing a Yankees fan toss a full beer on an unsuspecting A’s fan standing a row ahead of him. The Yankees fan followed it up by throwing the empty beer cup at the guy’s head. It was a classless display of fan behavior, but credit to the A’s fan for keeping his cool after the fact.

Upon seeing the video, the Oakland A’s wanted to help out the fan. They posted a screenshot to their Twitter account and hoped to identify the fan to send him new A’s gear.

Let’s hope the A’s track him down. He certainly didn’t deserve that kind of treatment from Yankees fans.
